Are you passionate about fencing? Millfield School is seeking a talented and dedicated Fencing Coach to join our team on a part-time basis from September 2023. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will have the opportunity to plan and coach individual players, working closely with our support services including athletic development, psychology, and performance analysis.
At Millfield, we believe in providing opportunities for pupils aged 5 – 18, regardless of their experience or ability. Our renowned fencing programme boasts a team of specialist coaches who cover all three fencing disciplines. Furthermore, our outstanding facilities include a purpose-built Fencing Salle, complete with eight training pistes featuring in-built scoring boxes and lights. It's an environment designed to nurture talent and facilitate optimal performance.
As the ideal candidate, you will hold a Level 3 British Fencing Coaching qualification (Epée is preferable although other disciplines and qualification levels will be considered), be a member of British Fencing, and up to date on the British Fencing Coaching register. In addition, you should have prior experience coaching fencing within school settings. Your expertise will be highly valued and contribute to the development of our aspiring fencers.
This part-time role encompasses 9 hours per week during term time. In return, you will receive a salary of £6,586.70 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay). The role will also include a number of weekend competition days which will be paid at a daily rate, where you may be asked to travel with students to competition. There will also be an opportunity for additional private coaching hours which will be paid at an hourly rate (amount dependent on qualification level).
